Sedona, AZ - January 10, 2002- Whacky Music, Inc., reports that is has shipped over one million of its award-winning Boomwhackers® Tuned Percussion Tubes. The company is also introducing the first color-coded songbook for their musical tubes. Whack-a-Doodle-Doo! contains 20 songs, 19 of which are familiar children's songs like London Bridge and one original. The color coding of the notes to match the Boomwhackers tubes enables anyone to easily pick out the songs and creates the opportunity to learn to read music at the same time. The book has a suggested retail price of $4.98.
In other news, Whacky Music reports that it has entered into an agreement with Warner Bros. Publications to jointly produce a series of support materials for Boomwhackers. The first is a lesson book for the classroom entitled Fun with Boomwhackers and is available now. Another series, Boom Boom!, is being introduced to showcase songs in the Warner Brothers collection. The first book in this series is entitled Popular Movie and TV Songs. containing songs like the themes from Star Wars and the Pink Panther, it includes a playalong CD and will be available in February.
Whacky Music also reports that the Boomwhackers musical tubes were recently selected by Scientific American's family-oriented Explorations magazine as a Top 10 Pick for New Science and Technology Toys.
